Season 3, Episode 10 – Generalissimo
Original Air date: February 05, 2009.
Synopsis: This week, Liz develops a stalker-ish crush on her neighbor whose mail she keeps receiving. By going through his mail, she finds out a lot about her pediatrician neighbor. In fact, she becomes obsessed with him – he smells of frosting, loves to bake, owns an ice cream maker and looks like a cartoon pilot. She believes they can grow old together.
Although she isn’t a perfect match for Drew who likes dogs and charities, she takes some cues from the Generalissmo, the arch villian from the telenova watched by Jack’s girlfriend’s grandmother, Abuela. While Jack struggles to find a way to assassinate the general because the character reminds abuela of him, Liz uses the general’s methods of persuasion to seduce her neighbor. However, Liz’s execution of these methods is not successful. Jenna becomes the voice of reason and tells Liz to stop her extreme measures.
However, Liz still decides to use the general’s methods and invites Drew to a “building” party that doesn’t exist. Her “date” starts off well but her cover is blown when he discovers his opened mail at her apartment, accidentally takes her roofies and finds “her dog” barking at her.
Jack’s attempts to end general’s character are challenged by the star, Hector Moreda who changes his death scene. Jack confronts Hector and decides to compromise: the general lives but he seduces elderly Puerto Rican women. On the next episode, the new and improved general seduces the older woman and wins the hearts of older women everywhere.
The next day, Drew drops off Liz’s mail that he accidentally received. She suggests that another go isn’t the weirdest thing that’s happened just as the NBC News reports that Tracy Jordan has become Lehman Brothers boss and shows a montage of beautiful Latin babies. They decide to go on a real date.
While Liz seduces Drew and Jack tries to win over abuela, Tracy has been dealing with the new interns. These new interns (former frat boys and bankers) make Tracy feel old and tired. Tracy cannot keep up and buys Lehman Brothers so the interns can go back to their old jobs.
Season 3, Episode 11 – Valentine’s Day
Original Air date: February 12, 2009.
Synopsis: Liz and Dr. Drew Baird have their first date on Valentine’s. The date starts with Liz’s boob falling out of her blouse while she tells Drew how she was born on the Maryland-Pennsylvania border. When she is relieving herself of the cheddar cheese stew she cooked for their date, the draft blows the bathroom door open while she’s on the toilet.
The date keeps getting worse – Drew’s ex-wife drops off their daughter on his date. The tween loves to drink and collect colored bracelets for doing certain things on the bus. Her visit is interrupted by the news that Drew’s mother is dying. While acknowledging it is “too soon,” she ends up going to the hospital to his mother’s bedside. When Drew briefly leaves the room, his mother tells Liz the deepest, darkest secret about Drew and passes away. After the most awkward and inappropriate night, they still decide to move forward.
Jack, too, suffers through his Valentine’s Day. Jack is forced by Elisa to go to church instead of restaurant, Plunder that serves a $1,000 dessert. When the church service runs late, Jack contorts the Lord’s Prayer to call his assistant to delay the reservation. Before they leave, he is dragged into confession where he drives the priest away with his unending list of sins. The priest runs away from confession saying, “Harvard didn’t prepare me for this.”
Elisa and Jack break up but quickly reunite when Elisa sees a McFlurry coupon in a collection plate. She goes to McDonald’s to use the McFlurry coupon and finds Jack there as well. She sees it as a sign that they belong together while Jack sees it as the successful work of capitalism.
Meanwhile, Kenneth has fallen hard for a blind intern. He is so smitten that he cannot talk to her. Tracy decides to step in and pretend to be Kenneth with a few yes-indeedys. Tracy even helps Kenneth fake a fancy Valentine’s Day date on the TGS set. In the end, Kenneth confesses that Tracy has been speaking for him. When the smitten Jennifer goes to feel Kenneth’s face, his lack of a chin turns her off and she runs away.

While Liz and Drew are walking down the street, Liz realizes that her boyfriend receives special treatment. Her realization begins with Drew getting out of a ticket, Calvin Klein asking him to be his underwear model and getting into Plunder for lunch. At Plunder, they gave them a table, the chef sent over food, women sent over drinks, and Mayor Bloomberg asked him to dance. Jack explains to Liz that beautiful people live in a bubble but it isn’t always a bad thing. People in bubbles are treated like they are perfect because they extremely good looking. He suggests that she enjoys the perks of the bubble while she can since the bubble doesn’t last forever.

At the tennis court, Drew warns Liz that he used to play pro in college. He started teaching kids at the Y and their mothers wanted private lessons. He promises to take it easy but she soon realizes that he is a horrible tennis player. Later that day, he cooks a disgusting homemade dinner made with Gatorade, draws a hideous portrait of her, has mediocre sex and cannot give her the Heimlich when she’s choking.
She goes to Jack to discuss the bubble. He understands the bubble and admits that people kept telling him that he spoke excellent French – the danger of being super handsome is that no one tells you the truth. Liz wants to change that – she wants to fix him.
Liz decides to show Drew what normal life is like. They actually wait for a table. She orders off the menu and gets yelled at. He realizes that he does live in a bubble and wants to get out of it. She says that she’ll help. She beats him at tennis and he gets very upset and calls her a cheating bitch.
In order to get Tracy back, Jack decides to get the help of Tracy’s children. His children are very upset with Jack because Tracy is making their lives very difficult – packing inappropriate things for their lunch and setting up his recording studio in their recreation room. Jack, then, goes to Kenneth and uses him to get Tracy back.
When Kenneth ignores Tracy’s calls, Tracy comes back to the studio looking for him. Kenneth breaks down and admits that he is only ignoring him because of Jack. Jack says he will fire Kenneth as a page if he leaves to help Tracy. This prompts Tracy to save Kenneth’s job by coming back to the show.

Quotes
Season 4, Episode 21 – Emanuelle Goes to Dinosaur Land
Drew: Liz Lemon. I was just thinking about you the other day.
Liz: Really?
Drew: Yeah, I saw this gorgeous woman putting glasses on her daughter’s Mrs. Potato Head…
Liz: The “why” is not important.

Liz: How did this happen?
Drew: A freak accident. You know I work with Doctors Without Borders. Well, I was helicoptering into Zimbabwe when I thought I saw somebody that I knew. So I waved from the helicopter, which it turns out is a big no-no, and the rotor took my right hand clean off. And it turns out the person I was waving to was not my old football coach.
Liz: Of course not. You were in Zimbabwe.
Drew: It looked just like a black version of him.
Liz: What about the other hand?
Drew: Oh, well, to celebrate my return from Africa my cousin and I bought a bunch of fireworks and—
Liz: You know what? This was a bad idea. I should just go.
Drew: What, you’re too good for me now that I have pirate hook hands?
Liz: It is absolutely not because you are disabled. I’ve been dumped by four different guys in wheelchairs.
Drew: Look, I’ll have you know, Liz that I am in line for a hand transplant. There’s this strangler who’s about to be executed and uh, I got my hooks crossed.

Drew: Wait, Liz., don’t go.
Liz: Ah, it’s hot!
Drew: Yeah, of course it’s hot, it’s been in the oven. Now who’s the dumb one?
