Jon Hamm faces off against Ben Affleck in the new heist drama ‘The Town,’ in theaters September 17, and the “Mad Men” star says playing the good guy in the action-packed film has some definite perks!

“There was obviously some weapons training that I was able to partake in. That was really fun to shoot some live rounds and blow some stuff up — that’s always fun,” says Jon, looking sexy in a bullet-proof vest. Of the new movie, he says, “I think it’s a good heist movie. I love heist movies.”

Ben returns to the director’s chair for ‘The Town’ after receiving much critical acclaim for his feature debut starring brother Casey Affleck, ‘Gone Baby Gone.’ Ben also stars in ‘The Town’ as Doug, the leader of a ruthless gang of bank robbers whose life changes after they briefly take bank manager Claire (‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’ star Rebecca Hall) hostage. Smitten by his beautiful captive, Doug begins a relationship with Claire, who has no idea that she has become involved with the man who terrorized her just days ago.

The film also features Chris Cooper, Jeremy Renner and Blake Lively, and Ben raves of the “Gossip Girl” star, “She just crushed it, and she did the [Boston] accent. I think that Blake Lively, who is only [in her early twenties], is going to be … a very, very large movie star, because to be as attractive as she is and kind of bright and full of energy and to be as good of an actress [as she is] is such a rare commodity.”
