Added new “Mad Men” set photos

I added photos of Jon on the set of “Mad Men” today in Los Angeles.

First Look: Jon Hamm Makes Excellent ‘Decisions’

David Cross’ IFC series The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret was one of the biggest — and best — surprises of the 2010 TV season as the titular characters’ madcap misadventures in England generated some of the best awkward laughter since The Office.

The second season launches on January 6, 2012 and picks up with Todd’s impending court hearing — plus the revelation that fate isn’t the only thing messing with Todd! “The new season picks up exactly where last season ended. Literally. From the appearance of Todd’s ‘dead’ dad at his doorway, this season completes the full fourteen day story line,” David Cross said. “What may have appeared to be happening to Todd by chance turns out to have actually been calculated.”

One of the most exciting season two development is the addition of Jon Hamm to the cast! The Mad Men star plays the personal butler/assistant/whipping boy to Dave, his well-to-do British boss.

ETonline is proud to present the exclusive first look at Jon on the show, truly embracing the comedic flair he showcased so wonderfully on Saturday Night Live and Bridesmaids. Click play above to watch!

The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret premieres Friday, January 6, 2012 at 10:30 p.m.

Pardcast-a-thon report

Jon appeared on Pardcast-a-thon last night, which support The Smile Train. Here’s a report from memory made by Joy:

He was crazy and very, very funny. He was an hour late and said that when Jimmy Pardo texted him (“Where the fuck are you?”) he was in his boxer shorts ready to go to bed, but realized he forgot and then got dressed and came to the pardcast. He looked great for someone who was just about ready to go to bed, although he seemed tired or sort of sleepy. He said that Mad Men season 5 would start on March 25, 2012. He also said that he might have surgery on his throat because he has swollen nodes — his voice sounded very raspy and he suggested that he has been wearing scarves around his neck lately because of his throat. He said he directed the first episode of Mad Men that they shot for season 5, but it was not the season opener, which was interesting because I thought they usually shot the episodes in order. He seemed very loopy as if he was either on some kind of medication or maybe had a couple of drinks. He also talked about the St. Louis Cards and baseball. Jimmy Pardo and Matt kept calling him “Ghost Hamm” because Amy Poehler, who was on the pardcast earlier, said everyone has a “ghost” double that they look like but don’t act like.

Once again, thank you so much for your contribution Joy!
Let’s hope his segment will be up on their site or iTunes!

What movie Jon Hamm recommend?

Anything by Mike Nichols. You can’t do better than Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? I love Working Girl. That was Melanie Griffith and Harrison Ford at their best.

Nice little interview with Jon!

Kristen Wiig: GQ Men of the Year 2011 – By Jon Hamm

Kristen Wiig co-wrote and starred in 2011′s ballsiest comedy, Bridesmaids. Co-star Jon Hamm reveals the secret to their supersexy chemistry.

The opening bit in Bridesmaids with all the crazy sexual acrobatics was done on the very last day of shooting. Bounding around in a flesh-colored thong, trying not to sweat all over Kristen while a hundred crew members are literally like, “Can we get this done, please?”—our embarrassment coupled with everyone else’s exhaustion lent that scene a particularly awkward sensibility. But it was inspiring to watch Kristen quarterback the team, be the cheerleader and decisionmaker, and then get in front of the camera and be hilarious. And surprising. For a lot of comics, there’s a persona they’re not comfortable revealing unless they’re performing. Kristen is incredibly shy; she has her hoodie pulled up and her sleeves pulled over her hands. But this is a woman who wore coconuts on her tits on SNL; she can go to the craziest, most grotesque places on the planet in character. Kristen came late to performing, and the way she rose through the ranks speaks both to her drive and to her wild talent. The first time I noticed her was watching the SNL sketch “Lady Business.” Kristen’s line was “I’m a bitch in the boardroom, a bore in the bedroom, and I’m a bear on the toilet,” which she delivered with over-the-top seriousness. I thought, “My God, this girl is funny.”

Random Quote

“‘It was a crazy house and it was so cheap even I could afford it. An 85-year-old woman owned the house. She was a soap actress who lived in New York and we were four guys, my size and bigger. But we broke so many pieces of furniture, these little-old-lady chairs you would sit on and they would crack. Plus we would have parties and the keg would leak. It was my job as the diplomat of the group to say to her, “Marilyn, we love you” and make her feel good. I was always the one who was behind on the rent. I was very proud that once I started working I was able to pay her back completely.”
