Then again, Hamm suggests that no amount of fresh starts will ever truly revamp Don Draper. “I think the show has ably proven over its first three seasons that people don’t really change their ways,” he says.

Hamm, it turns out, falls on the other end of the punctuality spectrum. “I try to be punctual. But like most things that we try to do, sometimes we fail at them. I do understand the value of being punctual, but I wish I practiced what I preached a little more.” While a fan of a classic timepiece, don’t expect Hamm to take his love of accessories any further. “I’m not a big jewelry guy. The only thing I’ve ever really worn is a watch. I’m not that guy. I can’t pull it off.” But, that’s not to say Hamm is opposed to other men engaging with a whole range of accoutrements. “If you can pull it off, more power to you. Keith Richards looks good with tons of necklaces, a skull ring, and earrings. But I’m not Keith Richards.”

He toiled in relative obscurity as an actor in the ’90s with small television roles in The Division, The Unit and What About Brian. But in 2007 he landed his breakout role as dissolute ad man Don Draper in AMC’s Mad Men — after seven auditions. The following year, Hamm won a Best Actor Golden Globe for his role and the show has won the Golden Globe for Best Television Series – Drama for each of its three seasons. Top celebrities in film, television, music, and sports will come together at Dodger Stadium on Saturday, August 7, to play in the 52nd annual Hollywood Stars Game. This marks the return of celebrity baseball at Dodger Stadium, which had been converted to softball in recent years. The Hollywood Stars game will begin at 5:00 p.m. followed by the Dodgers versus Nationals game at 7:10 p.m.

The full roster of stars is still being set, but celebrities scheduled to appear in the game include: Laker legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Billy Crystal (“City Slickers,” “When Harry Met Sally”), Kevin James (“The Zookeeper,” “Grown Ups,” “The King of Queens”), Joe Mantegna (“Criminal Minds,” “The Starter Wife”), Thomas Jane (“Hung”), Jon Hamm (“Mad Men”), Director Rob Reiner (“The Bucket List,” “Rumor Has It,” “A Few Good Men,” “When Harry Met Sally”), Jack Black (“Tropic Thunder,” “Nacho Libre,” “King Kong”), Director Garry Marshall (“Valentine’s Day,” “Pretty Woman,”), Gabriel Macht (“One Way to Valhalla,” “Whiteout”), Taylor Hoechlin (“Lincoln Heights,” “My Boys”), Simon Helberg (“The Big Bang Theory”) and Sean Astin (“The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, “24″).

TWoP: Any Jon Hamm diva stories?
Harris: He’s the most un-diva-ish person. He’s absolutely addicted to Scrabble. There’s a whole bunch of people on set and they play iPhone Scrabble. They’ve got about 20 different games going on with different cast members and crew members and friends who live in China. They’ve got all these games going on all the time, just Scrabble-ing away like crazy.

TWoP: Is he good or is he just obsessed?
Harris: He’s very good, yeah. You hear these, like, roars of somebody going “Yes!” if they manage to put like an “X” on a triple word score, or you suddenly hear “Gaahhh!” if somebody else got a big score. It’s like a football match going on. And there are lots of suspicions of “Oh, they must be using a dictionary!”
